Privacy

We collect little, and we never sell it.

The Community Garden is a grassroots U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 92-0810800). We ask for the least information needed to do the work, and we treat what you share with care. This page explains what we collect and why.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our field notes, we store your email address with our email provider (Buttondown) solely to send occasional updates. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe, and we never sell or rent the list.

Inquiries & interest forms

When you contact us or join a trip interest list, we receive the details you submit (name, email, and what you tell us) by email so we can respond. We keep it only as long as needed to follow up.

Donations & store orders

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We receive confirmation and the shipping details needed to fulfill an order; we never see or store your full card number. Stripe’s handling of payment data is governed by Stripe’s own privacy policy.

Analytics & cookies

This site is intentionally lightweight. We do not run advertising trackers or sell behavioral data. Any basic, privacy-respecting analytics are used only to understand which pages are useful.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from emails at any time, and you can ask us to correct or delete the information you’ve shared by emailing info@thecommunitygarden.org.

Consent in the field

Photos, names, and stories of the people and communities we work with are shared only with their consent, and withheld wherever privacy or dignity call for it.
