WHO IS MIKE SWIFT

Mike Swift is a Filipino-American rapper, spoken-word artist, and social activist. He is known for his contributions to the hip-hop and basketball scene in the Philippines and has been involved in various social and community projects.

Mike Swift gained recognition for his music and performances, often addressing social issues and promoting positive messages through his lyrics. He has been an advocate for youth empowerment, education, and community development. His involvement in projects like Dream Court and The Tenement of Taguig showcases his commitment to using his influence for the betterment of the world.

What is the Tenement?

The Tenement, often referred to as "The Tenement Court," is a unique housing complex located in Taguig City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It is a large multi-story urban building that was repurposed into a basketball court and community space.

Mike Swift was instrumental in turning the Tenement's central courtyard into a vibrant basketball court, creating a space for the community to gather, play, and express themselves. The transformation of the Tenement into a basketball court attracted attention from notable figures like LeBron James and Nike, bringing positive visibility to the local community.

The initiative helped create a sense of unity, pride, and engagement among the residents of the Tenement. It provided a platform for youth empowerment, artistic expression, and community bonding.

Presently, the Tenement houses a population of 3,000 individuals, grappling with the absence of running water. Every drop of water must be manually transported up numerous levels to serve the needs of all residents. This challenge significantly compounds the difficulties faced by those already inhabiting challenging conditions.

In alignment with our commitment to the cause, we are pledging $500 to contribute towards the creation of carts for water transportation. If you feel inspired to help, we humbly request your donations to advance the help we can offer.

We are continuously exploring innovative avenues to enhance our assistance, seeking more efficient means to provide support to the residents of the Tenement.
